Background
Audi is a brand of Volkswagen Group and has no company-owned sales network in Israel. Audi cars are imported and sold there by Champion Motors, an independent Israeli company that also represents Volkswagen, Škoda, SEAT and CUPRA; the showrooms, staff and stock are the importer's, and anything Champion Motors does is its own act, not Audi's. Buying an Audi in Israel — 2,231 units were delivered in 2025 — is therefore a commercial transaction with an Israeli company, not corporate support by Audi. Audi's own documented Israeli link is technological: the Cognata simulation agreement signed by its AID subsidiary. At Volkswagen Group level the record is larger and belongs to the parent, not to Audi: the CYMOTIVE cybersecurity joint venture in Israel, the Konnect innovation hub in Tel Aviv (which scouts Israeli technology for Group brands including Audi), and the CARIAD–Innoviz lidar contract. When Israel's automotive trade press catalogued the importers and leasing companies that donated to soldiers and evacuated residents after October 2023, Champion Motors was not among the companies listed, though iCar noted that some firms it approached asked for their activity not to be published.
