Does Autodesk support Israel?

Autodesk acquired PlanPlatform (founded as Visual Tao), a Tel Aviv startup whose SaaS let engineers view and edit AutoCAD files in a browser, in December 2009 — its first acquisition of an Israeli company. The price was not officially disclosed; reports put it at roughly $20–30 million. The technology became AutoCAD WS and the team formed the base of Autodesk's Israel R&D center.

Autodesk has run an R&D center in Tel Aviv since 2009, its first in Israel, working on 3D, mobile, web and cloud products; the company's Israel site reports about 130 employees. Autodesk Israel Ltd. is still listed as a subsidiary in Autodesk's fiscal-2026 10-K subsidiaries exhibit (filed March 2026).

Autodesk bought For Each, an Israeli mobile-app developer founded in 2010 with 18 employees on Habonim Street in Ramat Gan, in October 2013. No press release was issued: the company announced it on its own Facebook page, and CEO Elad Leibovitch confirmed the deal to Geektime while declining to give details. Geektime put the price at about $15 million and described the purpose as buying the team — folding For Each into Autodesk's Israeli development centre at Tel Aviv Port, alongside the PlanPlatform / Visual Tao staff acquired in 2009. Tom Winter, named by Geektime as a For Each founder and its CTO, gave the same $15 million figure in a June 2022 Globes interview, by which time he was CEO of Autodesk Israel. TheMarker also carried the story, but as the same Geektime report under the same reporter's byline, not as separate reporting.

Autodesk's corporate Forge Fund (a $100 million fund launched December 2015) made an investment of undisclosed size in Israel-based startup Jumper.io, whose platform simulates embedded software for IoT products. The deal reunited Jumper co-founder Jonathan Seroussi (a Visual Tao founder) with Autodesk. Claims of Autodesk investments in Israeli construction-tech startups specifically were checked and not verified in this pass.
