Boston Scientific's documented Israel record is commercial. It bought the Yokne'am-based surgical laser business of Lumenis for $1.07 billion in 2021, the Rehovot ultrasound developer SoniVie in 2025 for $360 million upfront and up to about $540 million with milestones, announced in 2002 that it would put up to $100 million into Israeli biotechnology and medical-equipment companies, clinical research and local marketing, and in 2018 agreed a framework with Allium's subsidiary Gardia Medical that collapsed in December 2018 before the binding contract was signed or anything was paid. The direction is not all one way: in December 2025 the company told employees it is moving production at its Galil Medical site in Yokne'am to Galway in Ireland by early 2028, while saying it will continue to operate, invest and be present in Israel. Attribution matters — the 2002 figure was an announced intention, not a confirmed sum paid out, and the $1.07 billion went to Baring Private Equity Asia, Lumenis's owner, not to an Israeli seller. This research found no corporate or foundation donation to Israeli humanitarian or advocacy causes, and Boston Scientific does not appear on the Yale School of Management list of companies that publicly condemned the 7 October 2023 attack.

In December 2025 Boston Scientific notified employees that it is winding down production at the Galil Medical site in Yokne'am and moving that work to its plant in Galway, Ireland, a gradual transfer the company expects to complete by early 2028. TheMarker reported that several dozen manufacturing, manufacturing-engineering and quality-control staff are affected; Globes put the site at about 100 people, an estimate the company did not confirm. A company spokesperson told Globes the move will help it meet expected demand for the products, that affected employees may apply for other Boston Scientific positions, and that the company "will continue to operate, invest, and be present in Israel", pointing to the surgical laser centre in Yokne'am bought from Lumenis in 2021. Boston Scientific inherited Galil Medical, a cryoablation device maker founded in 1997 on technology from Rafael Advanced Defense Systems, when it acquired BTG in 2019; BTG had bought Galil Medical in 2016 for $110 million. This is a reduction of manufacturing in Israel, not a donation or a statement of support.

Boston Scientific announced a definitive agreement to acquire SoniVie, the Israeli developer of the TIVUS ultrasound-based renal denervation system for treatment-resistant hypertension, for $360 million upfront plus up to $180 million on a regulatory milestone — up to about $540 million. Boston Scientific was already a strategic investor holding roughly 10 percent, so the upfront payment bought the other 90 percent. Israeli business daily TheMarker reported the same deal from that other side, putting the price of the whole company at $400 million and up to $600 million with the milestone; the 2025-2026 life-sciences report by IATI, the Israel Innovation Authority and PwC Israel lists it among the year's notable exits at $360 million rising to $540 million.

Boston Scientific closed its purchase of the global surgical business of Lumenis Ltd., the Israeli laser company based in Yokne'am, on 1 September 2021, for an upfront cash payment of $1.07 billion under an agreement announced on 3 March 2021. The money went to an affiliate of Baring Private Equity Asia, which owned Lumenis and kept its aesthetics and ophthalmology businesses; it was not a payment to an Israeli seller. The urology and ear-nose-throat laser portfolio acquired was expected to bring in about $200 million of sales in 2021, and Boston Scientific said it would keep the surgical operations in Israel and make Yokne'am its global surgical laser centre of excellence — the site it still pointed to in December 2025 as its continuing Israeli presence. It is a commercial acquisition, not aid or a donation.

Allium Medical Solutions (TASE: ALMD) told the Tel Aviv exchange on 12 September 2018 that it had signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding with an unnamed leading international medical-device company; Calcalist reported on 23 October 2018 that the company was Boston Scientific. Under the binding agreement then planned, Allium was to be paid NIS 25 million on signing, Boston Scientific was to hold exclusive United States distribution rights for three years to the WIRION embolic-protection filter made by Allium's wholly owned subsidiary Gardia Medical, and it had an option during the first 27 months of that period to buy all of Gardia's rights and assets, which would have brought Allium NIS 70 million in total — about $19 million at the Bank of Israel representative rate of 3 December 2018, 3.718 shekels to the dollar. The binding agreement was never signed and nothing was paid: Allium announced on 2 December 2018 that the deal was off, Calcalist reporting that Allium said the international company had withdrawn and Globes that the two sides had apparently failed to agree the precise terms after the framework memorandum. Allium's share fell 14.4 percent that day, and in August 2019 Allium sold the WIRION system and Gardia's related assets to the American company Cardiovascular Systems, Inc. for $17 million. Boston Scientific never acquired the business.

Boston Scientific's then chief financial officer, Larry Best, announced on 12 June 2002 that the company planned to invest up to $100 million in Israel: in biotechnology and medical-equipment companies, in clinical research, and in marketing Boston Scientific's own products in the country. Haaretz reported the announcement the next day. The figure was a stated intention rather than a verified sum paid out, and this pass found no record of how much was actually invested under it.
