Background
Forter is an Israeli-founded fraud-prevention company run from New York. Michael Reitblat, Liron Damri and Alon Shemesh started it in Tel Aviv in 2013 after working together at Fraud Sciences — the Israeli company PayPal bought in 2008 — and after service in the Israeli military's intelligence corps; the company today has its headquarters at 575 Fifth Avenue in Manhattan and keeps offices in Denver, Tel Aviv, London and Singapore. It raised about $525 million in total, reached a $3 billion valuation in a $300 million round in May 2021 and has since been reported to be preparing a listing at a targeted $5 billion. Its relationship with Israel is therefore one of origin and of an engineering office, with capital flowing towards the company from foreign investors rather than from the company to Israeli institutions. This research pass found no documented corporate donation, employee-matching programme, in-kind contribution, reservist-support scheme or official company statement by Forter relating to Israel after the October 7, 2023 attack, in English or Hebrew sources, and JLens's June 2025 survey of companies that stepped up for Israel after October 7 does not mention it. Forter does not appear on the BDS movement's consumer-boycott target lists, which concentrate on retail brands rather than business-to-business software.

| Operations in Israel | 2013 | — | Israel (Tel Aviv founding site and R&D office, jobs) Forter was founded in Tel Aviv in 2013 by Michael Reitblat, Liron Damri and Alon Shemesh. Reitblat and Damri were childhood friends who had worked together as engineers at Fraud Sciences, the Israeli fraud-detection company PayPal bought in 2008, and before that the founders served in the intelligence corps of the Israeli military. The company builds automated fraud prevention, payment optimisation, account protection and dispute management for online commerce. Its headquarters is at 575 Fifth Avenue in New York, and it lists offices in Denver, Tel Aviv, London and Singapore. Attribution note: Forter is an Israeli-founded company with a New York headquarters and a continuing Tel Aviv office. The founders' military intelligence service is part of the standard published account of their background; it is biography, not evidence of any relationship between the company and the Israeli state, and no such relationship is documented. Forter does not publish a breakdown of Israeli versus other headcount, so no such figure is claimed here. | |
| Investment / program | 2021-05-25 | $300,000,000 | Forter (the Israeli-founded company receiving the capital), not an Israeli charity or state body On May 25, 2021 Forter announced a $300 million Series F round that valued it at $3 billion, nearly tripling the valuation set six months earlier and taking its total funding to around $525 million from backers including Sequoia Capital, Scale Venture Partners, New Enterprise Associates, March Capital Partners and Salesforce Ventures. Globes later reported that the company was preparing an initial public offering at a targeted $5 billion valuation. Attribution note: this is investment capital flowing into an Israeli-founded company, which funds its Israeli engineering jobs among others. It is not a donation by Forter to anyone, and no part of it went to any Israeli institution. |
