Background

No donation, sponsorship, foundation grant, investment or supportive statement toward Israel or the Israeli government by Getir is on record, and Getir has never operated in Israel. The company was founded in Istanbul in 2015, expanded into the United Kingdom, Germany, the Netherlands, France, Spain, Italy, Portugal and the United States, and then withdrew from all of its European and US markets in April 2024, retreating to Türkiye. Israel was not among the countries it entered at any point, so there is no Israeli operation to have ended and no Israeli entity in its structure. Two things drive the boycott-list claims and neither is a Getir action toward Israel. First, investors: Getir's largest shareholder is Mubadala Investment Company, the Abu Dhabi sovereign fund, which led the March 2022 Series E round valuing the company at about $11.8 billion alongside Abu Dhabi Growth Fund, Alpha Wave Global, Sequoia Capital and Tiger Global, and which took control of the Turkish food and grocery business through a $250 million injection in June 2024. Those are financial investors in a Turkish delivery company; none of that is a transaction with Israel. Second, and more recently, ownership. On 9 February 2026 Uber announced an agreement to acquire 100% of Getir's food-delivery business in Türkiye from Mubadala for $335 million, plus a $100 million investment for a 15% stake in the grocery, retail and water business, with closing expected in the second half of 2026 subject to regulatory approval. Some Turkish boycott aggregators reclassified Getir on the strength of that deal because Uber, a separate US company, is itself named in boycott campaigns over its own Israeli investments. That is a chain of association through a pending change of ownership, not evidence about Getir; and as of this pass the transaction had not closed. Turkey restricted exports to Israel in 54 product groups on 9 April 2024 and halted all trade with Israel on 2 May 2024, and a domestic delivery company has no Israel trade relationship in any case. Nothing in the record shows Getir supporting Israel.
