Halls is a cough-drop and candy brand owned by Mondelez International, and no donation, in-kind gift, sponsorship or statement of support for Israel, its government or its military has been documented for the Halls brand. Its Israeli record is import and distribution by independent local companies, documented from November 2010 when Globrands, then the Israeli licensee for Cadbury brands, took Halls and Trident into more than 11,000 outlets. Ownership is worth stating precisely: Mondelez announced in May 2022 that it would divest its developed-market gum business and reviewed the future of Halls, but the transaction completed on 2 October 2023 covered only the gum brands (Trident, Dentyne, Stimorol and others) in the United States, Canada and Europe, sold to Perfetti Van Melle — Mondelez stated it continues to operate its gum business outside those markets "as well as all of its other candy brands and products," so Halls remains a Mondelez brand. Parent-level Israel activity documented on the Mondelez page is commercial: the 2019 collaboration with The Kitchen FoodTech incubator owned by Israel's Strauss Group, and 2020 and 2022 investments in the Israeli startup Torr FoodTech.
