Background

Windows is an operating-system product of Microsoft Corporation, not a company, and nothing — no donation, grant, contract, sponsorship, or statement about Israel — has been documented in the Windows brand's own name. This is Windows' parent Microsoft, whose documented actions are recorded on the Microsoft page: in October 2023 Microsoft converted campus facilities in Israel into refuge space for evacuees, held appreciation events for military reservists, and displayed solidarity symbols for hostages. Microsoft also runs long-standing engineering and R&D operations in Israel and sells Azure cloud and AI services there. In August 2025 The Guardian reported that Israel's military intelligence Unit 8200 stored intercepted Palestinian phone calls on Azure; in September 2025 Microsoft said it had terminated that unit's access to some cloud and AI services for breaching its terms of service, and it subsequently removed the general manager of its Israeli subsidiary and other managers after an internal review. All of those are Azure and corporate matters at the Microsoft level, not Windows licensing. The BDS movement's Microsoft campaign explicitly targets the Xbox gaming brand rather than Windows or Office, and no fact-check or filing attributes any Israel-related payment to Windows itself.
