Background

SentinelOne is a US-incorporated cybersecurity company with Israeli roots: it was founded by Israeli entrepreneurs Tomer Weingarten and Almog Cohen, is routinely described in Israeli press as an Israeli(-founded) firm, and keeps a Tel Aviv development center that housed about 14% of its global workforce as of October 2023 per its SEC filings; TheMarker put its Israeli headcount at 320 in April 2026. During the October 2023 war its 10-Q said the company was 'closely monitoring' the conflict, which had not adversely affected operations; no corporate donations, employee-support programs or official statements about the war were found in this research. In September 2025 it completed its first Israeli acquisition, buying GenAI-security startup Prompt Security for roughly $250-300 million. In January 2026 it settled a five-year transfer-pricing dispute with the Israel Tax Authority over the value of its Israeli subsidiary's intellectual property, agreeing to pay $180 million — $255 million once 7% annual interest over five years is added, which TheMarker headlined as about NIS 792 million — in installments through 2030. Its corporate venture arm, S Ventures, has also backed Israel-linked startups: Unframe, which has a Tel Aviv entity, in April 2025, and Mesh Security, whose R&D center is in Israel, in January 2026. Israeli coverage has run the other way too: in March 2026 TheMarker reported that SentinelOne had invested in and partnered with the US company Replit — a deal SentinelOne announced on its own blog on March 12, 2026 — and noted that Replit's chief executive, Amjad Masad, is among Silicon Valley's sharpest critics of Israel, having accused it of genocide in Gaza and called for a boycott, and that the investment was not publicised to Israeli media.
