Snyk's Israeli connection is one of founders and engineering history rather than of corporate nationality or giving. Three Israeli Unit 8200 alumni — Guy Podjarny, Danny Grander and Assaf Hefetz — founded it in 2015 and ran it from London and Tel Aviv simultaneously before the headquarters settled in Boston; Podjarny has said publicly that investors of the time considered an Israeli branch a precondition for building a cybersecurity company at all. That Israeli site is now the smaller part of the story: after four rounds of layoffs the Tel Aviv development centre had fallen from several hundred people around 2020 to roughly 90 of about 1,550 employees worldwide by June 2026, as AI coding assistants squeezed the code-scanning market.
