Cadbury is a chocolate brand owned by Mondelez International, and its documented Israel record is entirely commercial. In 2001 then-owner Cadbury Schweppes gave Israeli marketing of Cadbury chocolate to local manufacturer Carmit; the December 2002 launch, run as Cadbury Israel, failed to take hold and produced a 12-year lawsuit in which Carmit accused Elite's owner Strauss of blocking Cadbury from shelves — Israel's Antitrust Authority fined Elite NIS 5 million in 2006 and Strauss settled with Carmit in September 2014 for NIS 9 million plus NIS 50 million of product purchases. Cadbury products are sold in Israel today by Diplomat Group, an independent Israeli distributor that lists Cadbury alongside Oreo, Milka and Toblerone; Mondelez has no Cadbury factory in Israel. The older history runs the other way: in 1987 a leaked letter showed Cadbury Schweppes' managing director offering the Arab League boycott office in Damascus to terminate its subsidiary's bottling and trademark arrangements with Israel's Jaf-Ora company — a business employing 400 people — by April 1989, while telling the boycott office he expected production in Israel to continue; Cadbury Schweppes was later removed from the Arab blacklist. No donation, in-kind aid, sponsorship or statement of support for Israel, its government or its military has been documented for the Cadbury brand. Parent-level Israel activity documented on the Mondelez page is commercial too: the 2019 collaboration with The Kitchen FoodTech incubator owned by Israel's Strauss Group and 2020 and 2022 investments in the Israeli startup Torr FoodTech.
