Does Nokia Corporation support Israel?

Nokia signed a contract to deliver a GSM 1800 and GPRS network for Cellcom in Israel, an early infrastructure supply relationship with Israel's largest mobile operator at the time.

Nokia (Networks) acquired NICE Systems' 3D geolocation technology business, returning to Israel two years after shutting its ~500-person Israeli R&D center in 2012, and said it would build up a competence center in Israel around 3D network modeling. Deal value undisclosed.

Nokia Solutions and Networks Israel Ltd runs a roughly 150-person operation in Kfar Saba spanning a go-to-market group serving Israeli service providers and a development group, including a global development center for Nokia's CloudBand cloud division (an Alcatel-Lucent heritage operation that came with Nokia's 2016 Alcatel-Lucent acquisition) and a branch of Nokia Bell Labs researching distributed cloud networking.

Nokia announced the world's first deployment of its 5G Edge Slicing solution on live commercial networks with Cellcom and Telia; the Cellcom trial ran on a live network in Netanya, Israel, targeting enterprise VPN services over 4G/5G.

Nokia acquired the technology assets and Israeli R&D team of Rapid (formerly RapidAPI), a Tel Aviv API-hub company once valued at $1 billion, to accelerate Nokia's network-API and 5G monetization strategy. Financial terms were not disclosed.
