Background

Riskified is an Israeli-founded, Tel Aviv-headquartered company, but its relationship with the Israeli state is not one-directional cheerleading: in March 2023 — months before the war — CEO Eido Gal moved the company's entire $500 million cash reserve out of Israel in protest of the government's judicial overhaul, warning Israel risked becoming 'a more authoritarian state', and expanded hiring and relocation packages at its Lisbon site. Israel's share of its workforce has fallen from about 70% to 60% and Israeli hiring has largely been paused. After October 7, 2023 its documented support was humanitarian: donations and matching for war-relief groups such as Natal, and employee volunteering for soldiers' meals, evacuees and shelters, per its own CSR report.

The company says it also prioritized the physical and mental-health needs of its Israel-based employees during the war.
