Background
Stripe is a privately held US payments company. Its Israeli footprint is a commercial sales and support team established in 2022; Israel does not appear on Stripe's published list of countries where businesses can open a Stripe account, so the local operation is narrower than a full market launch. Two things often attributed to the company belong elsewhere. First, its largest recent acquisition, the stablecoin infrastructure firm Bridge announced in October 2024, is American, not Israeli, and no Israeli acquisition by Stripe was found. Second, the boycott calls aimed at Stripe in November 2024 followed personal posts by co-founder Patrick Collison about a visit to Tel Aviv — a founder's personal statement, not a corporate donation or policy. Pressure has also run the other way: in 2023 pro-Israel groups urged Stripe to drop a Palestinian NGO as a customer. No corporate donation, aid or statement of support for Israel by Stripe was found.
