Southwest Airlines is a U.S. domestic and near-international carrier: it has never flown to Israel, has no operations there, and its SEC filings contain no mention of the country. No corporate donations, statements, or partnerships supporting Israel were found, and its PAC gives to U.S. federal and state candidates of both parties with no pro-Israel committees among recipients. In late 2023, pro-Palestinian activists in Boston named Southwest a boycott target — not over any activity in Israel, but because it ordered 108 Boeing 737 MAX 7 passenger jets in October 2023 while Boeing, a separate company, supplies arms to Israel. Southwest has operated an all-Boeing 737 fleet since its founding, and the order was a commercial purchase from Boeing's civilian-aircraft division.
