Does Kaltura support Israel?

Israeli-founded video-technology company with a precise split of identities: the Nasdaq-listed parent, Kaltura, Inc., is incorporated in Delaware and headquartered in New York City — legally an American company — but it was founded in 2006 by Israeli entrepreneurs Ron Yekutiel, Michal Tsur, Shay David and Eran Etam, and its primary research and development, human resources and parts of finance are run from its Israeli center in the Tel Aviv area (Bnei Brak, per its 10-K) through the Israeli subsidiary Kaltura Ltd. As of December 31, 2023 it had 344 full-time employees in Israel — about half of its roughly 700-person workforce — and a number of its officers and directors are Israeli residents. Its filings state plainly that political, economic and military conditions in Israel directly affect the business.

Weeks after October 7, 2023, Kaltura — together with Israeli AI startup GlossAI — built and launched Stand4Israel, a free platform distributing verified videos, articles, survivor testimonies and information about the abducted and wounded from the October 7 attacks, initially in 11 languages (later expanded by another 23), with content designed to be shared on social media to counter what the company called fake news about the war; 'Israel's ability to tell the real story will be crucial to the continuation of the war,' Liad Eshkar told CTech. The company platform is dedicated to the memory of Eynav Elkayam Levy, a Kaltura product-design team lead murdered by Hamas at the Nova festival on October 7, and hosts a donation campaign for her orphaned son. This was a corporate initiative of Kaltura, contributing its video technology and staff time to Israel's wartime advocacy effort.

In its fiscal 2023 annual report, Kaltura, Inc. disclosed $331,000 of 'war related costs' comprising three corporate actions after October 7, 2023: temporary relocation of key employees out of Israel for business continuity, purchase of emergency equipment for key employees, and a charitable donation to communities directly impacted by the war. The donation's share of the $331,000 total is not broken out and the recipient organizations are not named, so no separate amount is recorded here; the acting entity is the corporation itself (consolidated Kaltura, Inc./Kaltura Ltd.), not its employees.

A commercial acquisition, not a gift: on December 1, 2025 Kaltura, Inc. completed the purchase of 100% of the shares of eSelf.AI Ltd., an Israeli AI startup whose technology creates photorealistic conversational avatars, under an agreement signed on November 5 and announced on November 10, 2025. Kaltura's audited annual report puts the total purchase consideration at $16.4 million: an initial cash payment of $7.6 million, contingent earn-out consideration carried at an acquisition-date fair value of $6.5 million, and 1,572,203 Kaltura shares worth $2.3 million placed in escrow, to be released ratably over three years starting one year after the acquisition. The figure the Israeli press carried, about $27 million, is the announcement-day maximum: it assumes every earn-out milestone and retention target is met, and counts 4,690,025 shares including holdbacks for eSelf's founders and key employees. At signing, Bizportal reported that all of eSelf's staff, a team of more than 15 AI specialists, would join Kaltura, with co-founder Dr. Alan Bekker to become its chief technology officer and Eylon Shoshan a senior vice president in research and development. Bizportal described the deal as Kaltura's third purchase of an Israeli company, after newrow in 2020 and TVINCI in 2014. This is money into the Israeli technology sector and to that company's shareholders — ordinary commerce, not a donation, aid or a statement of support.
