TGI Fridays is an American casual-dining chain run from Dallas by TGI Fridays Inc., formerly the restaurant arm of the Carlson group, later owned by Sentinel Capital Partners and then TriArtisan Capital, and it filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in the United States on 2 November 2024. The chain has no restaurants in Israel: the Hebrew-language reference record states plainly that as of 2022 the chain has no branches in Israel, and Israel appears in none of the brand's country lists — after the bankruptcy filing the franchisor said its 56 franchisees operate in 41 countries, none of them Israel. Whether a short-lived Israeli branch ever existed in the 1990s or 2000s could not be resolved: nothing was found in either direction, and this page records that as an open question rather than asserting a negative. No donation, in-kind aid, statement, investment, contract, sponsorship or partnership supporting Israel has been documented for TGI Fridays or for any of its franchisees, before or since October 2023. In the Middle East the brand is franchised to Americana Restaurants International PLC, the Abu Dhabi- and Riyadh-listed operator, which holds the exclusive TGI Fridays franchise for the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Egypt and confirmed after the Chapter 11 filing that its restaurants were unaffected because it licenses from TGI Fridays Franchisor LLC, a separate entity. That is a regional operator relationship and carries no Israel link. One name to keep separate from the brand: an unrelated Israeli company registered in Yavne as "BIG Friday's, BAR, Restaurant Ltd." has nothing to do with TGI Fridays.
