WhatsApp is a brand of Meta Platforms (acquired in 2014), and no donation, investment, or statement of support for Israel by the WhatsApp brand itself has been documented — Meta's Israel-related actions are covered on the Meta Platforms page, and Meta has announced no corporate donations to Israel. The most-cited WhatsApp-adjacent story is personal, not corporate: in May 2026 co-founder Jan Koum gave $200 million to Jerusalem's Shaare Zedek Medical Center through his personal Koum Family Foundation, the largest gift in Israeli healthcare history — but Koum left WhatsApp and Meta in 2018, so this is an individual's philanthropy, not an action of the brand or the company. WhatsApp's near-universal use in Israel is simply market adoption and is not evidence of support, and moderation or data-use allegations around the app are disputed claims, not documented backing.
