Background
CNN is a news organisation, and almost everything published about CNN and Israel concerns its journalism rather than any corporate act. The Hebrew- and Arabic-language coverage gathered for this page is entirely of that kind: CNN reporting on Israeli and American military planning, Israeli figures responding to CNN reports, a CNN poll on how Americans view Israel. Criticism of that journalism runs in both directions, and none of it is recorded here as support or opposition. The Intercept reported in January 2024 that every CNN journalist covering Israel and Palestine must submit work for review by the Jerusalem bureau under a long-standing CNN policy, and that the bureau — like every foreign news organisation operating in Israel — works under the rules of the Israeli military censor, which reporters must agree to abide by in order to hold an Israeli press pass; CNN says the review policy exists to ensure accuracy on a polarising subject. Pro-Israel critics have argued the opposite about the same coverage for just as long. Claims about CNN and Israel also circulate as outright fabrications: a video that appeared to catch chief international correspondent Clarissa Ward being coached like an actor while sheltering from rockets near the Gaza border was genuine CNN footage with a fake audio track added by a YouTube account, as Snopes and PolitiFact each established separately. In 2012 CNN's press office publicly rejected website reports about a reorganisation of its Jerusalem bureau, stating that seven people worked there, four of them Jewish. Nothing was found in the places a corporate gift would appear. CNN and Warner Bros. Discovery are absent from the trade-press roll-call of media companies that gave to Israel relief after 7 October 2023, which names Disney, Comcast and Skydance. No charitable foundation bearing CNN's name appears in US nonprofit tax filings; the two filers that carry the letters CNN are a small religious body in Pennsylvania and a health charity in Maryland, unconnected to the network. There is no CNN corporate political committee, and the only Turner Broadcasting PAC on the Federal Election Commission's books last filed in 1997. CNN is not named in the Palestinian BDS National Committee's corporate targeting guide. CNN's parent, Warner Bros. Discovery, has its own page here carrying its own records, including a statement by its chief executive; those belong to the parent and are not attributed to CNN.

| Operations in Israel | 2025-12-31 | — | — CNN's own corporate footprint in Israel is a staffed Jerusalem bureau and a company registered in Israel. Warner Bros. Discovery's list of consolidated subsidiaries as of December 31, 2025, filed with the US Securities and Exchange Commission, includes Cable News International Israel Ltd with the country given as Israel, alongside Cable News Network, Inc. and Cable News Network, LLC in the United States. CNN's press office describes the bureau as the network's "multi-platform operation in Jerusalem" and named Oren Liebermann its Jerusalem bureau chief in April 2025; in September 2025 it announced two further Jerusalem-based hires, senior reporter Tal Shalev and field producer Zeena Saifi. This is newsgathering infrastructure — the presence a broadcaster needs in order to report from a region, of the same kind behind the Abu Dhabi bureau the September 2025 release names and the London bureau the April 2025 release names, and behind the Cable News International entities the same filing lists in Qatar, France and the United Kingdom — and it is not a donation, a sponsorship, an investment or a statement of support. |
