Its identity is often confused with that of its former parent: until February 2021 this business was Verint Systems' intelligence and cyber division, and surveillance claims made today about 'Verint' usually concern Cognyte, while Verint itself kept only a smaller Israeli research presence and was taken private by Thoma Bravo in November 2025. The two should never be conflated.
