Background

No donation, in-kind aid, employee-matching programme, sponsorship or public statement of support for Israel by Grupo Televisa was found in any of the eleven source types checked, including the company's own audited filings. What the search did find runs the other way: Grupo Televisa has been a repeat buyer of Israeli television rights. In 2008 it signed a five-year contract with Tel Aviv-based Dori Media Group to supply at least five telenovelas for distribution in Mexico, part of a US$9.5 million deal agreed at the MIPTV market in Cannes; Dori Media's chief executive Nadav Palti put his own company's income from it at a minimum of US$1 million a year, and the arrangement also covered tape and/or remake rights to titles including Rebelde Way, Lalola and Patito Feo. In October 2014 Televisa licensed from Keshet International — the international arm of Tel Aviv-based Keshet Media Group — the right to adapt the Israeli hostage drama Prisoners of War, the original of Homeland, as a 70-episode telenovela, with RTI Colombia producing and Televisa airing it in Mexico. In January 2016 it took remake rights to four Keshet International scripted formats over three years, starting with Loaded and Easy Money and completed in 2018 with Mythological Ex and Yellow Peppers (adapted by the BBC as The A Word); Globes reported the same pact from the Israeli side in January 2017, alongside Keshet's new Mexican subsidiary Keshet MX. In all of these the money moves from Televisa to Israeli rights-holders. They are purchases from Israeli suppliers, not operations inside Israel — no Televisa office, channel, subsidiary or sales presence in Israel was found — and licensing a television format is commerce, not support, which is why they are set out here as background rather than as evidence of support. Two things that could be mistaken for support are not. Televisa released a documentary in 2017 called Israel, the promised land, part of its Por el Planeta nature series, filmed at the Dead Sea, the Sea of Galilee and the Coral Beach reserve; that is journalism, and coverage is not support. And TelevisaUnivision — the US Spanish-language broadcaster that holds the former Televisa content business, and that funds an employee political action committee in Washington — is a separate company: Grupo Televisa's annual report states that it held a 44.3% equity interest as of 31 March 2026, that it does not control TelevisaUnivision, and that it accounts for the stake as an associate. Grupo Televisa's own disclosed giving is a related-party donations line of Ps. 15 million in 2025 and Ps. 30 million in each of 2024 and 2023. Note 20, "Related Parties", which carries that line, names no recipient for it, and no Israel-linked recipient appears anywhere in the filing. The filing's only mention of Fundación Televisa, A.C. is elsewhere, in the Item 7 related-party-transactions section, where a consulting firm controlled by Emilio Azcárraga Jean's sister is said to have provided the foundation with services in 2025; the donations line is not attributed to the foundation or to anyone else. The foundation's published programmes — the Bécalos scholarships and the Posible entrepreneurship programme — run in Mexico.
