Does Henkel AG & Co. KGaA support Israel?

Henkel entered Israel in 1996 by forming the 50/50 joint venture Henkel Sod Ltd. with Israel's Shemen Industries, producing and marketing detergents, household cleaners and toiletries; per its 2000 annual report Henkel then bought Shemen's remaining 50% for €30 million, taking full ownership. Henkel Sod, today based in Netanya, owns Sod — one of Israel's most familiar home-care brands — and is the sole local manufacturer and distributor of Henkel products in Israel.

Henkel Adhesive Technologies invested (amount undisclosed) in Copprint, a Jerusalem startup founded in 2016 that develops copper-based conductive nano-inks for printed electronics such as RFID/NFC antennas, photovoltaics and wearables, to strengthen Henkel's printed-electronics expertise.

Henkel's venture arm invested (amount undisclosed) in Haifa-based Feelit, developer of printed nanomaterial sensors for predictive industrial maintenance, to expand Henkel Adhesive Technologies' maintenance-repair-overhaul portfolio. Henkel's head of corporate venturing said the deal 'underlines the value of our long-standing engagement in Israel as a major global hub for materials and technology start-ups'; Henkel Tech Ventures runs a dedicated Israel hub near the Technion and the Hebrew University.
