Mavi is a Turkish denim company founded in Istanbul in 1991 and listed on Borsa Istanbul; its own corporate disclosures describe a presence in 34 countries and roughly 4,000 points of sale, with subsidiaries in the United States, Canada, Germany, the Netherlands, Russia and Australia — Israel is not among the markets it names, and it discloses no Israeli subsidiary, joint venture or franchise partner. The 'Mavi jeans are sold in Israel' claim does have a real historical root, and it is worth stating precisely because it is a claim about an Israeli retailer, not about a Turkish decision to serve Israel. Israeli business press (Globes and Bizportal) reported that the Israeli fashion chain H&O launched the MAVI brand in Israel and promoted it with paid campaigns — a rooftop three-dimensional jeans sculpture on H&O's Ramat Hasharon store and press advertising through the Aumann-Bar-Rivenai agency — after which MAVI also appeared in Factory 54 and specialist denim shops. The importer, advertiser and seller in that account is the Israeli chain; what Mavi Giyim did was supply a brand to a wholesale customer, as it does in dozens of countries. We could not establish the years of that arrangement from accessible sources, so it is recorded here as background rather than as dated evidence, and no current Israeli distribution of Mavi is documented. Turkey restricted exports to Israel in 54 product groups on 9 April 2024 and halted all trade with Israel on 2 May 2024; the Directorate of Communications states that no export customs declaration to Israel has been registered since, so Turkish-made apparel can no longer ship there lawfully. Nothing in the record shows Mavi supporting Israel.
