Background

Pixar Animation Studios has been a wholly owned subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company since 2006, and Disney's own list of subsidiaries in its FY2025 annual report names Pixar as a company incorporated in the United States. Nothing was found that Pixar itself donated, sponsored, funded or said about Israel: the studio has no charitable foundation, no political action committee, no separate financial reporting since 2006, and no mention of Israel in any of the filings it made with the SEC while it was a public company, from its first in May 1996 to Disney's takeover in 2006 — EDGAR full-text search covers 2001 onward, and the earlier filings were read directly. The question usually arrives through the parent. In October 2023 The Walt Disney Company pledged $2 million in humanitarian aid — $1 million of it to Magen David Adom, Israel's national emergency medical service — and matched employee donations up to $25,000 per employee; those are Walt Disney Company actions, recorded on the Disney page, and a parent's record is not its subsidiary's. In the other direction, the BDS movement's official targeted-boycott list names Disney+, citing the casting of Shira Haas in Marvel's Captain America: Brave New World and of Gal Gadot in Disney's Snow White; Pixar is not named on that list. A listing is a campaign position rather than a payment, and so is an absence from it. The one Israel-adjacent commercial fact specific to the studio is a supplier relationship that began in 2018: VAST Data's own release says Pixar started working with it that year, on the volumetric rendering behind the 2020 film Soul, and in June 2023 the storage company announced that Pixar had moved the render pipeline for Elemental onto its platform, quoting Pixar's head of data centre and IT infrastructure. VAST Data is headquartered in New York and was founded by Israeli entrepreneurs with its development team in Israel, so this is a technology purchase from a US-incorporated vendor — not an operation in Israel, and not support. Pixar-branded activity inside Israel is run by others under licence: a month of Pixar-themed events at the Dizengoff Center mall in Tel Aviv, from 21 July to 21 August 2026, was announced by the mall, and Pixar Animation Studios is named neither as organiser nor as sponsor.
