Background
Trident is a chewing-gum brand and no donation, in-kind gift, sponsorship or statement of support for Israel, its government or its military has been documented for it. Ownership must be stated by territory: on 2 October 2023 Mondelez International completed the sale of its developed-market gum business — including the Trident, Dentyne, Stimorol, Hollywood, V6, Chiclets, Bubbaloo and Bubbalicious brands in the United States, Canada and Europe, plus plants in Rockford, Illinois and Skarbimierz, Poland — to Perfetti Van Melle, while stating it "continues to operate its gum business outside the United States, Canada and Europe" and retains the emerging-market gum business across Latin America and Asia, Middle East and Africa. Israel sits in Mondelez's Asia, Middle East and Africa region, so Trident there remains on the Mondelez side of that split; Diplomat Group, Mondelez's Israeli distributor, still lists Mondelez gum brands such as Stimorol, Dentyne and Clorets. Trident's documented Israeli history is commercial: distribution by Globrands from 2010 after kosher certification opened the supermarket chains. Parent-level Israel activity documented on the Mondelez page is also commercial — the 2019 collaboration with The Kitchen FoodTech incubator owned by Israel's Strauss Group and 2020 and 2022 investments in the Israeli startup Torr FoodTech. Neither Trident nor Mondelez appears on the BDS movement's official targeted-boycott list.

| Operations in Israel | 2010-11 | — | Globrands (independent Israeli distributor, then licensee for Cadbury brands) Trident entered mainstream Israeli retail in November 2010 through Globrands, the independent Israeli distributor led by Yaron Gazit that held the marketing licence for Cadbury brands after Kraft Foods' takeover of Cadbury. Ynet reported that the gum, previously sold only in the Tiv Taam chain, small groceries and kiosks — about 5,000 outlets — received kosher certification from the Chief Rabbinate and Kof-K and moved to more than 11,000 points of sale, in a kosher version containing beef gelatin and in different packaging; Globrands set a target of 10-12% of Israel's sugar-free gum market within a year, against Wrigley's 62% and Strauss Elite's 29%. The acting party in Israel is the local distributor; there is no Trident factory or subsidiary in Israel, and this is commercial market entry, not a donation or political act. |
