Activia is a Danone brand, and in Israel it exists only through Danone's partnership with the Israeli Strauss Group: Strauss's dairies manufacture and market Activia under an exclusive licence, alongside the other Danone fresh-dairy lines Actimel and Danacol, and Danone has held 20% of Strauss's dairy company (Strauss Health) since agreements signed in December 1996, with two board seats and technical know-how transfers — details on the Danone page. That relationship itself has boycott history: Danone first bought into Strauss in 1969 and withdrew in 1980 under Arab League boycott pressure before returning in the 1990s.
