Does Innoviz Technologies Ltd. support Israel?

Israeli company at its core: founded in January 2016 by Omer Keilaf, Oren Rosenzweig and co-founders who served together in Unit 81, the elite technological unit of the IDF Intelligence Corps, and headquartered in Rosh Ha'ayin, Israel, where its lidar R&D is concentrated. It went public on Nasdaq in April 2021 through a SPAC merger with Collective Growth Corporation at a roughly $1.4 billion valuation, raising about $371 million — the first Israeli company to list via SPAC.

BMW selected Innoviz's solid-state lidar (supplied via tier-1 partner Magna) for series production of its automated vehicles — Innoviz's first series-production win. Volkswagen's software subsidiary CARIAD selected Innoviz as a direct tier-1 supplier of lidar sensors and software for VW Group vehicles with automated-driving capability — a deal Innoviz valued at about $4 billion over eight years, covering an expected 5-8 million vehicles. After October 7, with roughly 10-15% of Innoviz's ~500 employees called up to IDF reserve duty, the company donated bulletproof vests and other equipment to its drafted employees on the front lines and supported them financially. CEO Omer Keilaf said 'we're providing essential equipment to members of our team who have been drafted into the IDF reserves, ensuring they have the necessary tools and supporting them financially,' framed the wartime effort as 'about ensuring the continuity and success of our country,' and took on a public-advocacy role explaining Israel's position to international audiences.

Innoviz moved into the defense and homeland-security market: in April 2026 it announced defense/HLS offerings of its InnovizSMART and long-range InnovizTwo sensors (with the former CEO of Israel's Rafael Advanced Defense Systems as a defense advisor); in May 2026 Tel Aviv-based defense company Kela Technologies signed a framework agreement to procure up to several hundred InnovizTwo lidar units — potentially scaling to thousands — for armored vehicles, border security and perimeter-defense missions; and in July 2026 Innoviz launched Perciz, a dedicated defense and homeland-security brand, alongside counter-UAS collaborations with Israeli firms Givon Defense and Cogniteam.
