OrCam is an Israeli company by origin and location rather than a foreign company that decided to back Israel: founded in Jerusalem in 2010 by Amnon Shashua and Ziv Aviram, headquartered in the Har Hotzvim technology park, and financed to a $1.5 billion valuation before a hard reversal. The founders matter for attribution. The same two men built Mobileye, and Shashua's best-known act of Israeli philanthropy — a NIS 100 million fund set up with his wife Anat in October 2020 to give grants to about 2,000 Israeli small businesses hit by COVID-19 — was a personal act of the Shashua family through their House for Social Solidarity project, not an act of OrCam or of Mobileye, and it is recorded on the Mobileye page rather than here.
