Savola Group is a Saudi joint-stock company founded in Jeddah in 1979 and listed on Tadawul. It is built on two pillars: Savola Foods (edible oils, sugar, pasta and bakery, with brands such as Afia and Egypt's Egybelg, plus 51% of Dubai's Al Kabeer frozen foods) and Panda Retail Company, the Saudi supermarket chain Savola brought 100% in-house in 2023 and has since been preparing to list separately. No recorded donations, investments, contracts, sponsorships or statements in support of Israel were found for Savola, Savola Foods, Panda or Al Kabeer. The group has no operations, subsidiary or supply agreement in Israel, and it has been shrinking rather than widening its footprint, exiting Morocco and Iraq in 2023 and Iran in 2024; its 2025 international move was a partnership with Türkiye's Tiryaki Agro Holding in which Savola holds a 15% minority stake in the combined entity. Two ownership points are frequently stated incorrectly and are corrected here. First, Savola no longer holds a stake in Almarai: it had been Almarai's largest shareholder since 1991, trimmed the holding to 34.52% in 2017, and in December 2024 — after a SAR 6 billion rights issue and a capital reduction approved by shareholders on 12 December 2024 — distributed that entire 34.52% stake to its own eligible shareholders as an in-kind dividend, a full exit. Second, Savola's historical association with Prince Alwaleed bin Talal, who has described himself as one of the group's founders, is a shareholding and founding history, not an Israel-related fact of any kind. Savola files with the Saudi Capital Market Authority and Tadawul, not with US regulators, so the absence recorded here rests on those disclosures, Gulf financial press and news review rather than on SEC or IRS filings.
