Background

Sodexo is a French food-services and facilities-management group operating in around 45 countries. Its Israeli arm grew out of the reshaping of the Israeli contract-catering market: Israeli business press reported in August 2019 that the Danish group ISS was exiting Israel, selling its aviation-catering unit to Newrest and its catering and cleaning units to the Israeli group T&M, with the catering business ultimately passing to Sodexo — the sequence is reported rather than confirmed by Sodexo itself, so it is set out here as background rather than as evidence. What is documented is the present-day business: a wholly Sodexo-owned Israeli company serving corporate, healthcare, education and defence-sector clients — and, in that company's own corporate responsibility reports, donations for Israelis evacuated during the war. Four days into the war that began on 7 October 2023, the Israeli meal-card business then branded Cibus Sodexo announced that it was buying and donating thousands of emergency kits, distributed by the Latet aid organisation, and that cardholders could move part of their monthly meal-budget balance towards buying more kits. Only the kits the company bought itself are its own money: the balances are the cardholders' employee meal benefit, which the company moved rather than gave, and no monetary figure was published for either. This was Sodexo's Benefits and Rewards arm — its Israeli site carried the title Cibus Sodexo that month — and that arm was renamed Pluxee in 2023 and separated from Sodexo as a listed company on 1 February 2024. The same card is now Cibus Pluxee, so the act belongs to a business Sodexo owned at the time and does not own now. One Israeli outlet reported it; no second, independent account was found.

Sodexo Israel describes itself on Sodexo's Israeli website as the country's leading provider of organisational catering, and operates a facilities-management arm branded TADAL FM. A July 2025 announcement about a supplier deal put its scale at roughly 1,800 employees nationwide and called it Israel's largest catering and building-maintenance provider.
