Background
Verint Systems is an Israeli-rooted, US-registered company: it grew out of Comverse Technology, was led since 1994 by Israeli-born CEO Dan Bodner, and historically ran large R&D operations in Herzliya. In February 2021 Verint spun off its intelligence and cyber business into Cognyte Software Ltd., a separate Israeli-registered, Nasdaq-listed company — surveillance-related claims about 'Verint' today usually concern Cognyte's business, and the two should not be conflated. Post-spinoff Verint focuses on customer-experience software and kept about 200 Israel-based employees, mostly R&D. In November 2025 private-equity firm Thoma Bravo completed a roughly $2 billion take-private of Verint and merged it with its portfolio company Calabrio; Bodner moved to an advisory role.
