Trendyol is Turkey's largest e-commerce group, majority-owned by Alibaba, which invested from 2018 onward and held about 70% by 2024. No donation, sponsorship, foundation grant or supportive statement toward Israel or the Israeli government by Trendyol is on record, and it has never had an Israeli subsidiary, warehouse or local marketplace. What the record does show is the 2019 cross-border retail episode above: Israeli consumers buying Turkish goods from Trendyol's shop on Alibaba's AliExpress platform, with Israel briefly ranking as Trendyol's second market there. That channel belongs to the pre-war period and to a platform Trendyol does not own. Trendyol's own international marketplace, launched in Europe in October 2020 and extended to the Gulf and Azerbaijan, serves a published list of destinations — 27 European countries, six Gulf states and Azerbaijan — that does not include Israel. Calcalist's CTech reported on 6 March 2019 that within two months of Trendyol opening its store on AliExpress — the cross-border platform of Alibaba, which is also Trendyol's investor and later its majority owner — Israel had become the Turkish retailer's second-largest market on the platform, after Russia.
