Background

Two things get confused about Neutrogena and Israel, and both are worth separating. The first is ownership. Neutrogena was a Johnson & Johnson brand until 2023, when J&J spun off its consumer-health business as Kenvue — listed on the New York Stock Exchange in May 2023, fully independent that August — and Neutrogena went with Kenvue. The Israel record routinely posted under Neutrogena's name is Johnson & Johnson's and stayed there: the 2008 Omrix Biopharmaceuticals acquisition, the Biosense Webster R&D site in Haifa, the FutuRx biotech incubator, the 2024 purchase of the Israeli device maker V-Wave, over 1,000 J&J employees in Israel, and the $2 million J&J gave to humanitarian relief after 7 October 2023. Those are medical-device and pharmaceutical assets; none of them transferred to Kenvue and none is a Neutrogena action. The second is the Dead Sea. We looked specifically for a Neutrogena Dead Sea product line or Israeli Dead Sea sourcing and found none documented: Neutrogena's heritage lines are the Norwegian Formula and cleanser ranges, and the Dead Sea skincare line most often cited in this corner of the argument — "Natural Sea Beauty" — was made by L'Oréal Israel at its Migdal Ha'emek plant, which closed in June 2022. Neutrogena is marketed in Israel as a local brand: it runs a Hebrew-language site at neutrogena.co.il, published — per the site's own notice — by JNTL Consumer Health I (Switzerland) GmbH, one of the legal entities that carries the consumer-health business now owned by Kenvue, and it maintains a Hebrew "Neutrogena Israel" Facebook channel. Its skincare is stocked across Israeli pharmacy and beauty retail, including Super-Pharm. The corporate vehicle behind that presence is disclosed by the brand's owner: Kenvue's SEC Exhibit 21 subsidiary lists for fiscal 2024 and 2025 name an Israeli-jurisdiction entity — the former "Israel branch of Johnson & Johnson Hellas Consumer Products," now filed as Kenvue Hellas Commercial Single Member S.A. with Israel as a jurisdiction — which imports and distributes Kenvue brands.
