Beauty is the category where Israel is often the supplier rather than the recipient. ODDITY Tech — the Israeli company behind Il Makiage and SpoiledChild — is headquartered in Tel Aviv and listed on Nasdaq; Sephora's documented Israeli link runs inward, buying AHAVA and other Israeli brands rather than opening stores there. L'Oréal has the longest corporate record: a stake in the Israeli manufacturer Interbeauty from 1994, a $1 million donation, and a Migdal HaEmek plant it closed in 2022. Brand-level giving is rare but real: Pantene has funded Zichron Menachem's wig workshop for children with cancer since 2013, and Maybelline launched its Brave Together mental-health programme in Israel with ERAN in 2022. Where a viral claim doesn't survive checking — as with NIVEA — the page says so.

Two brand-level programmes are documented: Pantene funds Zichron Menachem, which makes wigs for Israeli children undergoing cancer treatment — P&G reported a $100,000 grant that built the workshop — and Maybelline runs Brave Together with the Israeli crisis line ERAN. At corporate level, L'Oréal recorded a $1 million donation. All are civilian and charitable; none is military or governmental, and the pages say which is which.
Is NIVEA boycotted for supporting Israel?
The record runs the other way. We found no NIVEA or Beiersdorf donation to Israel; the brand reaches Israel through a marketing joint venture, Alpa BDF, with no local manufacturing. The one documented controversy is the opposite of the rumour: in 2011 the Simon Wiesenthal Center accused Beiersdorf of omitting Israel from its website, and the company restored it.
